I stopped by at the ‘Bake-A-Wish stand in the Mall today. This was a nice little bit of publicity by the fantastic staff at the Make-A-Wish Head Office in Camberley. How many residents know that Camberley has been the home of this national -indeed international -charity since it was launched here in 1986? I was priveledged to have been a trustee in the very early days, and have tried to stay involved ever since. There are tens of thousands of children in UK with life-threatening illnesses; Make-A-Wish endeavors to grant wishes to as many of them as possible – but this requires money, volunteers, and very efficient and determined management and support staff.
